As an avid hiker for almost 3 years, choosing the right shoes has been my problem since I’ve started climbing mountains. From blisters I have after a hike, dead toe nails, and other injuries which I could have been avoided if I only have wear the right shoes! I have tried several brands already until one of my friends recommended this brand “SALOMON” to me. At first I was hesitant to buy this brand because of its price that ranges from 7-8k Php depending on the designs. I decided to buy the Salomon Speedcross 3 before our hike at Mt. Ampacao in Sagada, Mt. Province last 2014. After several use on the trials, I’ve realized that it is worth every centavo that I spent for this shoes.

I’ve been using Salomon Speedcross 3 more than 2 years already and I guess I will still be using it in my future hikes. Below are my observations and review:

Pros
⦁ First is the looks. I find it cool! Even other hikers compliments its cool design.
⦁ Secondly is the one-pull Quicklace system which you only have to Slip your feet in the shoes and pull the tops of the laces to tighten and the lace pocket where you can put excess lace
⦁ Lightweight! Which means boost in your speed and endurance. The lighter your shoes, the faster you can move and you can save your energy during hikes.
⦁ Perfect fit that helps prevent foot and ankle damage, and make your hike a more pleasant and comfortable experience.
⦁ Good grip on most terrains esp. on muddy trails because the traction of this shoes dig deep into the ground
⦁ Very durable even if it is always wet on most of my hikes
⦁ Very comfortable to wear esp. during multiday hikes; less blisters and dead toenails on descend

Cons
⦁ I don’t recommend this in crossing large wet rocks esp. during river crossing. Just avoid crossing to it, most brands also have no traction on slippery rocks
⦁ Not recommended also in climbing step branches of trees or stepping on roots of trees on the trail esp. when wet
⦁ The sole wore of quickly ( not recommended on concrete roads )
