I’ve started my trail running experience last year and this is also the first time I use my Brooks Cascadia 9 on the trail. The Cascadia 9 is a cushioned type of trail shoe and has a lot of upper padding to give a runner great comfort.

This is not a minimalist or a speed shoe because it weighs 12 oz. so compared to other trail shoes, it is a lot heavier. The traction is also great whether on a muddy trail, river crossing or even on rocky terrain.

I also use the Cascadia 9 not only for trail running but also for climbing and trekking. It is also good for climbing and trekking on the trails of the mountain because it is lighter compare to a hiking boots, it is breathable because the upper the material is mesh and it dries quickly when it gets wet while trekking.

It also has a ballistic rock shield plate underside and a wrap around toe guard for protecting your feet from rocks and other sharp objects. I’ve use it so many times and until now I still use it in all my trail run events, climbing or trekking mountain.

It is also cheaper than the other trail shoes being sold in the market. Overall, I find it great when it comes to comfort, traction and the breathability on long distance running or trekking for more than 12 hours.
