All the relief goods are packed and we’re ready to go.

It was a rainy day of December 29th, because of the typhoon affecting most parts of Metro Manila, but it didn’t halt the team to continue this passion of sharing ample amount blessings to the homeless.

This is my first time to join and I am very much overwhelmed with the experience. And especially the support of those unnamed good Samaritans. I gave kudos to those people who did not wish their names to be mentioned in helping others.

It was a fun and a closer eye-opening experience. Fun, because you got to explore the city in the middle of the night, there’s much more to see at night when you are in the city, just a few to mention are the busy street lights, tall lighted buildings, and because Christmas spirit is not yet over, there’s still a bunch of twinkling lights you can see everywhere, and the experience of riding at the back of a pick-up truck and the feeling cool breeze of the night, an appreciation being the outdoorsy type of a person.

A closer eye-opening experience, because literally a closer encounter with the homeless. I do encounter them during the day asking for alms everywhere but did not quite think about how they settle during the night, especially during this cold weather and during rainy season. I admit it was a heartbreaking scene, but one can only do so much.

Hopefully, government will continue to develop something if not to eliminate but gradually lessen and stop the growing number.

I salute all those who have participated and make this event possible, not only because of the quantity that we must give, but the hope of kindness in each in every one of us.

It was indeed quite a subtle way for me to end the year. Hopefully, looking forward to more experiences like this as I continue my journey in becoming officially a part of the Green Mountain Tribe.
